Breeders’ Stakes Favorites
Though Gaston faces winners for only the first time in this race, it is a reasonable step up from an open maiden special win to this Canadian-bred stakes. That especially holds true because he has really figured it out after switching to the turf and adding distance. With his high-powered connections, tactical versatility and solid stamina pedigree, this Kevin Attard trainee looks well placed.
Trainer Mark Casse, another perennial force at Woodbine, sends out both Sir for Sure and Hall of Dreams. Sir for Sure is a bit more interesting. Though he unseated his jockey in the Prince of Wales, he was going the right way before that with wins in the Prince of Wales and then a good third in the Queen’s Plate.
